Adult Living Services
The Adult Day Services Division offers a variety of employment
opportunities as well as a number of unique
and diversified day programs for
people with developmental disabilities. All program participants are
assigned
a caseworker who oversees the provision of services as outlined in the
consumer's individual support plan,
and who functions as a liaison among the
agency, families and community based organizations. Vocational Programs:
Supportive Services The Homestead Group offers an extensive array
of support services, available to all program
Adult Basic Education For persons over the age of twenty-one years who wish to continue their formal education in academic areas, The Homestead Group provides classes in adult basic education. This program provides instruction in functional academics and literacy skills. The program is available to a limited number of individuals, referred through their case manager. Self-Advocacy The Homestead Group sponsors self-advocacy groups, the purpose of which is to promote self-direction and empowerment. Monthly meetings are held under the direction of group officers and advisors. Located at One Social Street, Woonsocket, RI, this program provides a vast array of social and recreational opportunities for people with and without disabilities.
