Adult Living Services

The  Adult Day Services Division offers a variety of employment opportunities as well as a number of unique and diversified day programs for people with developmental disabilities.  All program participants are assigned a caseworker who oversees the provision of services as outlined in the consumer's individual support plan, and who functions as a liaison among the agency, families and community based organizations.


Vocational Programs:

The Homestead Group offers a variety of facility based as well as community based vocational opportunities, designed to assess individual interests and skills, to develop basic work skills, to provide specific vocational training in selected occupational areas, e.g., food services, and to assist people in attaining supported or competitive employment. Desired outcomes include increased earned income, social integration, and personal independence.

  • Pre-placement Assessment
  • On-Site Evaluation Services

Supportive Services
 

The Homestead Group offers an extensive array of support services, available to all program
participants, based upon individual needs. Services are provided by, or under the direction of,
certified or licensed professionals, and are designed to enhance functional independence.

Services include:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Counseling
  • Music Therapy
  • Dance

Adult Basic Education

For persons over the age of twenty-one years who wish to continue their formal education in academic areas, The Homestead Group provides classes in adult basic education. This program provides instruction in functional academics and literacy skills. The program  is available to a limited number of individuals, referred through their case manager.


Self-Advocacy

The Homestead Group sponsors self-advocacy groups, the purpose of which is to promote self-direction and empowerment. Monthly meetings are held under the direction of group officers and advisors. 


The Homestead Social Center  

Located at One Social Street, Woonsocket, RI, this program provides a vast array of social and recreational opportunities for people with and without disabilities.   Phone the Homestead Social Center at 401-775-1420, ext. 199
