New Avenues Employment Services

New Avenues Employment Services (formerly Community Employment and Training) was established in 1984 and provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

The program presently supports 50 individuals. We offer a wide range of services including:

  • Individual choice of job placement
  • Job coaching and training
  • On going supports throughout the length of employment
  • Transportation and travel training
  • Competitive wages
  • Integration into society

There are many success stories. Many of the individuals supported by New Avenues have been employed for years, some for over a decade. Although New Avenues is part of Arc Industries, it is not a program. It is real employment with real wages.

Present Employers Include:

  • Tech Industries
  • North Smithfield High School
  • Wal-Mart
  • Bryant College
  • Brown University
  • McDonalds
  • Courier for 5 gallon water dispenser delivery
  • Pizza Hut
  • Brigido's IGA
  • Super Stop & Shop
  • Shaw's Super Market
